Our Journey So Far

In the last year, we've taken steps to measure every inch of our carbon footprint. In 2023, our CO2 emissions totalled an estimated 115 tonnes, and while that's comparatively low for a company of our size, it's important we commit to fully offsetting the entire amount.

Deepening Our Commitment

We are proud to announce our ambitious new goal: to offset our carbon emissions through a certified carbon offsetting programme. This initiative is our way of taking full responsibility for our environmental impact.

Our Climate Action Plan

Guided by the GHG Protocol, our climate reduction objectives focus on: 

• Scope 1: Emissions from our facilities

• Scope 2: Emissions from electricity, heating, and cooling

• Scope 3: Emissions from business travel and employee commuting

We've partnered with Green Branch to offset our emissions through the conservation of 11,000 hectares of native forests and grasslands in the Cerrado, Brazil. This certified project not only reduces emissions but also supports biodiversity, water conservation, and local communities through job creation, training, and education.

Why the Cerrado Matters

The Cerrado biome, Brazil’s main breadbasket, has lost 46.8% of its native vegetation to agriculture since 1985. Through the Avoided Grassland Conversion Cerrado Program, we offer payments for conservation, helping landholders preserve surplus native vegetation and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by leveraging the voluntary carbon market.

This project is certified under the VCS (Verified Carbon Standard) and CCBS (Climate, Community & Biodiversity Standards) with the prestigious Triple Gold Distinction, ensuring the highest environmental and social standards.

Looking Ahead

We will continue our annual collaboration with Green Branch to meet our climate goals. While we acknowledge that offsetting is less effective than directly reducing emissions, this marks the beginning of our sustainability journey.
