On the evening of the 24th of March, we hosted our very first Ex-Military Careers webinar, ‘Ex-forces transferable skills to enhance career opportunities.’ Our panel led by ex-forces personnel spoke about a variety of topics, covering how organisations are evolving due to the pandemic and what that means for career opportunities. Our panel advised our audience on top skills they look for; loyalty, self-control, accountability, and enthusiasm were all key considerations that the panel emphasised. Moreover, we spoke about how soft skills are becoming increasingly important due to the shift to remote working. Our panel concluded that soft skills are heavily used throughout the military and can be easily transferred in the workplace.
Soft skills attract employers and allow people to successfully navigate themselves around the business to ensure tasks are met. It is imperative not to underplay them. From all at Ex-Military Careers, we would like to thank our panel for their insights and inspiring anecdotes. Thank you, also, to our audience for their participation, many of whom stayed with us for our virtual networking session.
